The Rulebook Decoded
Racing rules are like the laws of the road, but at 200mph. Let's break down how a winner is actually decided.

Flag System

Safety & Signals

The Goal

25 Pts for 1st

The Language of the Track

At 200mph, riders can't hear a megaphone. Officials use colored flags to communicate safety warnings, penalties, and race updates instantly.

The Yellow Flag

The universal sign for caution. There is danger on the track ahead. Riders must slow down and are strictly forbidden from overtaking until the track is clear.

The Red Flag

Race stopped. Whether it is a crash or heavy rain, riders must immediately slow down and return to the pits. The race will usually restart later.

The Black Flag

The ultimate penalty. A rider has been disqualified for a serious rule break and must return to the garage immediately. Their race weekend is over.

How The Points Work

In MotoGP, you don't just win a race—you build a season. Here is the simple math behind how a rider becomes a World Champion.

Finish Top 15

The Cut-off

To score any points at all, a rider must finish among the first fifteen across the line. 16th gets nothing.

The Scale

25 to 1

The winner bags 25 points. Second gets 20. Third gets 16. It scales down to a single point for 15th place.

Season Total

The Title

Every point from every race is added up. The rider with the most at the end of the year wins the big trophy.
